Take care of your health

A Medicare Supplemental or Medicare Advantage plan will give you access to excellent doctors and hospitals, while controlling costs.

When you were young...

Your biggest expense was your house and car.  As you get older, your biggest expenses will be healthcare related costs - doctors visits, x-ray bills, hospital stays, ambulance rides, prescription drugs, etc.   It is absolutely essential that you protect yourself from uncapped out-of-pocket costs associated with Original Medicare plan.  If you don't, it could destroy everything you worked so hard for, to get to this place of retirement.

Did you know?

The #1 reason people file for bankrupcy in the United States is due to medical bills.

Protect your retirement savings from unexpected healthcare costs when purchasing a Medicare Supplement plan.  One plan pays for most of your Part A & B out-of-pocket expenses. Say goodbye to deductibles, copays, and coinsurance!

Manage your Exposure

Minimize your financial exposure by purchasing a Medicare Advantage plan.  You will have predictable costs and an annual out-of-pocket maximum, while getting extra benefits beyond Medicare Parts A & B.

Your expenses without a plan...

Medicare provides good healthcare coverage when you are enrolled in Medicare Parts A & B.  However, you do share in the costs.  They are highlighted in the table below (see the column labeled "Your Out-of-Pocket Expenses").  Purchasing a Medicare Supplement or Medicare Advantage plan will help cover some or all your these expenses and will protect your retirement dollars.

Medicare Supplemental vs. Advantage Plan

You'll need to choose between a Medicare Supplemental and a Medicare Advantage plan.  Don't know which one to choose?  Here are some features to think about,

  • the cost of the plans

  • the yearly limit out of pocket expenses

  • the benefit coverage

  • the provider networks

  • the quality of care of the private company

  • if and where you travel

There are no "right" answers.  Answers vary by person because people see different doctors, take different medications, and have individual preferences for how to access services.
